ICF-CO Jan 2019 Virtual Program: Energizing your Coaching with The Magic and Mastery of Metaphors

Energizing your Coaching with The Magic and Mastery of Metaphors

January 23, 2019 from 12:00 – 1:00pm MT

Virtual Program (Webinar)

Presented by Patrick Williams, MCC

CCEs: 1 in Core Competencies

Come experience powerful ways to deepen your coaching and to increase insights for your clients with the elegance of using metaphors! You will learn the ‘magic question” that always evokes a metaphor and other tools to assist your clients in deepening and broadening their learning to overcome obstacles to creating the life they want and the future that are wanting to design. Metaphors help clients to come to know what was unknown before and use the power of the unconscious in creative and transformational ways.

We will explore the neuroscience of metaphors, creating metaphors in guided imagery, and how to use photographic cards or pictures with clients as stimulation for new "points of view." We’ll include a live demo and a chance for you to practice the new concepts.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

This learning experience will teach you:

  • How to listen for metaphors in your coaching conversations
  • Steps to elicit metaphors for creativity in problem-solving
  • A magic question that almost always evokes metaphoric viewpoint of a present challenge
  • When and how to use guided imagery as a tool for creativity
