Interested in Speaking to the ICF Colorado Community?

The Vision of ICF Colorado:

ICF-CO is committed to the advancement of professional excellence in coaching.

The Mission of ICF Colorado:

  • Uphold the ICF Code of Ethics and Standards
  • Promote mastery of the ICF Core Competencies
  • Support the health, growth and success of our members
  • Provide educational resources, programming and tools in support of professional excellence
  • Demonstrate the value of professional coaching
  • Engage members to create innovative partnerships and programs
  • Champion access to professional coaching
To support our members and other coaches in Colorado, we look for the highest quality educational experiences. We are committed to interactive and experiential learning through demos, structured practice, and follow-up interaction. You must address these elements in your proposal.

To support learning before and after the educational event itself, all chapter members are invited to use the ICF-CO Basecamp discussion forum. This is where you can supply pre-reading material, pose thought-provoking questions, and contribute to ongoing discussions about your topic. We request that you actively participate in the relevant part of our Basecamp group for 2 weeks prior to and after the event. We will create a temporary account for you.

We expect you to work closely with one of our Education Leadership Team members to ensure that the entire learning experience includes examples, demonstration, and practice with feedback. This includes the learning which takes place before and after the event.

In-Person Monthly Meetings:

This format gives us the opportunity for face-to-face contact, physical movement, and first-hand participation. We expect about 1/3 lecture, and 2/3 demo, application, and practice. Here's how it works:
  • We don’t charge speakers for attending the meeting, and you’re encouraged to participate in any of the activities that evening, including dinner.
  • Speakers are not compensated for their time or expenses.
  • We seek Core Competency CCEs from ICF when appropriate (that’s highly desired).
  • We will publicize your presentation through newsletters, our website, social media, and verbal announcements at prior meetings.
  • We will not directly share with you the email addresses for attendees. Of course, they’re always free to contact you through your website and sign up for information. If you send us a message directly after the event including relevant pointers and resources, we will send it out to the participants as a one-time message. That should include information for how people can best contact you for more information.
  • We allow you a SHORT mention of additional programs or products that you might be offering. A discount for ICF-CO members and affiliates is greatly appreciated.
  • We’ll have a table available if you have books, brochures or business cards.
  • We also encourage you to expand your visibility through our Colorado Coach Connection. It’s not expensive, and reaches an even broader audience. View past issues at this link: https://www.slideshare.net/ICFColorado.
  • We take care of signups, tracking attendance, and distributing CCE certificates.
  • We have a PC projector, but we ask that you bring your own computer which connects via VGA or HDMI. If you have a Mac, this probably means you have to have an adaptor.
  • Your participation in Basecamp for 2 weeks prior to and after the event will be critical to ensuring that participants have both learned and applied your content. This must be supportive, professional, and free of any advertising.

One Hour Virtual Presentations (Webinars):

This format gives us the ability to reach coaches outside the Denver area, even non-members and those outside Colorado. We charge for events, giving us a much higher participation rate and to communicate the significant value.

We expect about 1/3 lecture, and 2/3 demo, application, and practice. Here's how it works:
  • We have an ICF-CO Zoom account which we prefer.  It has the ability to record the event for either our usage (like if someone was unable to attend) or for your usage.  We do not restrict your usage of the recording.
  • We seek Core Competency CCEs from ICF when appropriate (that’s highly desired).
  • We will publicize your presentation through newsletters, our website, social media, and verbal announcements at prior meetings.
  • You can give a 2 minute announcement at a prior meeting (or ask us to read something your provide)
  • We also encourage you to expand your visibility through our Colorado Coach Connection.  It’s not expensive, and reaches an even broader audience. View past issues at this link: https://www.slideshare.net/ICFColorado.
  • You can publicize your webinar to other audiences, and we don’t restrict discounts you might give those people. If people don't sign up through the ICF-CO website, they won't get access to Basecamp, they won't get notifications before and after, and they won't get the CCE certificate - because we have no way of contacting them.
  • We will not directly share with you the email addresses for attendees. Of course, they’re always free to contact you through your website and sign up for information. If you send us a message directly after the event including relevant pointers and resources, we will send it out to the participants as a one-time message. That should include information for how people can best contact you for more information.
  • We allow you a SHORT (<5%) mention of additional programs or products that you might be offering.  A discount for ICF-CO members and affiliates is greatly appreciated.
  • Your ICF-CO host/facilitator will help ensure productive flow, manage breakout sessions, take care of CCE details, and ensure high quality for attendees.
  • We take care of signups, payments, tracking attendance, and distributing CCE certificates.
  • Speakers are not compensated for their time or expenses.
  • Your participation in Basecamp for 2 weeks prior to and after the event will be critical to ensuring that participants have both learned and applied your content. This must be supportive, professional, and free of any advertising.
  • Please note that ICF-CO captures video recordings of its webinars. This is primarily for members who weren't able to attend the event in real time. We may also use video recordings of our virtual events to help give potential members a sense of the value of membership in our chapter. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please note them in your proposal.
