ICF-CO Webinar: Deep Collective Listening: The Emerging Collective Wisdom

Deep Collective Listening: The Emerging Collective Wisdom

January 16, 2020 from Noon - 1:00pm MT

Virtual Program (Webinar)

Presented by Miriam Jones and Adam Rumack

CCEs: 1.0 in Core Competencies

The Open Circle Process is a pioneering practice to bring powerful awareness and learning to organizations. It helps groups to go beyond just what we know, to the transformation which is possible when we distinguish between learning and listening. It’s about listening for what is beyond. Traditional process-focused listening and questioning models often bypass this.

The webinar will be an experience of a deep listening practice. Together we will explore what lies beyond the current paradigms of the way we listen and question as coaches and in our lives and how listening beyond what we know can serve.

Core Competencies addressed:

  • Co-creating the Relationship: Establishing Trust and Intimacy with the Client
  • Co-creating the Relationship: Coaching Presence
  • Communicating Effectively: Active Listening
  • Communicating Effectively: Powerful Questioning
  • Communicating Effectively: Direct Communication

About Miriam Jones

Miriam is known as a thought leader in the area of transformational education, cultural change, and leadership.

After developing a dual interest in business and education, Miriam began designing and delivering leadership programs and change efforts for organizations across the globe. Miriam is an experienced entrepreneur who has founded and led several organizations, from not-for-profits to corporations to co-operatives.

In efforts to look for new forms that could inform her organizational work and the changes she was witnessing in the world, Miriam turned her focus to learning forms influenced by indigenous nature-based cultures and societies: circle listening and healing practices, circle governance and rite of passage, and nature-based rituals. The combination of this training plus her background in organizational development and leadership led to her involvement as a board member then co-executive director of The Ojai Foundation. Miriam is a partner in We are Open Circle, a founder of Mireya (a not-for-profit women’s leadership community), and is currently on the board for Gaia Girls.

Miriam has worked with clients across industries and forms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Coates, Coca-Cola Amatil, Ernst & Young, Snapchat, Canva, Inversion Yoga, B-corporation, Wilderness Torah, among others.
