2019 Education Groups

Check out our education groups! These groups offer great opportunities to receive support for your development as a professional coach, deepen your mastery of coaching, connect with your colleagues, and explore new territory. And most of them offer CCE’s! For 2019, there are eight education groups to choose from, including five new options. All of the groups are included in your ICF-CO activity fee - no matter how many you join!

Most of the groups are designed to be ongoing, so participants will build on their development and their connection to the group over the course of the year. Attendance at all sessions is strongly encouraged in order to get the most out of the experience.

Some groups will meet in person & others on Zoom (or a combo of virtual and in-person). The virtual programs are a great way for coaches located outside of the Greater Denver Metro area to connect with the wider ICF-CO community and take advantage of our education programs from anywhere in Colorado and beyond! We will once again be offering a Continuous Coaching Development Group in Colorado Springs, and we are adding another in Northern Colorado.

Cost: If you've paid your ICF-CO Activity Fee, there's no charge!
Otherwise, you're welcome to join as many groups as you like for $99 total for the entire year.

Group size is limited and is each group is designed as a continuing cohort for the year. Grab your spot(s) quickly!

Somatic Coaching

Dates:Third Thursdays of the month

Location: In-Person - Private home in the North Stapleton neighborhood of Denver

CCE's:
2 in Core Competencies and 1 Resource Development for each of the eight sessions in 2019.

Do you love to work with movement and body awareness in your coaching? Or is this an area outside of your comfort zone, which you would like to understand better? Whether this is home ground or new territory for you, this is an opportunity to keep growing and learning. The Somatic Coaching Education Group will be focusing on a variety of body-oriented coaching approaches that integrate the use of movement or heightened body awareness.

Although the body is key to how we take action in the world and to the resulting outcomes, this domain is often not addressed in coaching conversations. This group is for anyone interested in exploring how they might enrich their own coaching practice through mindfulness of the body in both their personal and professional development. It will also be useful for coaches who are already experienced with somatic awareness and want to explore new territory and best practices. We will explore a variety of approaches to Somatic Coaching, with several different session facilitators over the course of the year.

The group is designed to be a rich, experiential way to deepen your understanding of how to coach with the body in mind. We will build on our progress of integrating and expanding our embodiment of somatic practices in our coaching over the course of the year, so attendance at all sessions is strongly encouraged in order to get the most out of the experience.

Key Learning Points & Benefits for Participants:

- Develop a more somatically aware approach in your life and in your coaching

- Develop sensory acuity and daily practices to cultivate an embodied presence, personally and professionally

- Experience peer-coaching during and between monthly sessions, and practice specific skills in a supportive environment, with focused feedback.Sessions will incorporate various approaches to experiential learning, including practices in body awareness, movement, and cultivating somatic coaching mastery through peer-coaching practice and feedback.

- During the sessions, each group member will have the opportunity to set specific actions, share challenges and receive feedback

- Learning will continue between sessions through simple daily somatic practices to support your progress, as well as an ongoing group dialogue area on Basecamp

- On Basecamp we will have a living document to which we can all contribute, that will be a reading and resource list with articles, research information, book recommendations, and other Somatic Coaching resources, as well as an area for handouts from the monthly sessions

Schedule:

6:00pm - Welcome/community building (while sharing a potluck dinner)
and discussion of our ongoing learning and our focus for the evening

Her company - boas partners - specializes in holistic leadership development that integrates all levels of our being - physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual - in daily life.

Zora has been a Master Certified Coach since 2005, a long-standing ICF Assessor conducting ICF examinations at PCC and MCC levels, and is a former co-chair of the ICF Global Credentialing and Program Accreditation Committee. She is the director of the boas professional coach certification.

Zora is a dance artist, an accredited mediator and an expert in bodymind integration, neuro-linguistic programming and movement observation. Her work draws on the disciplines of psychology, anthropology, organisational behaviour, somatics and philosophy of science. Other sources include dance, physical theatre, yoga and martial arts, as well as diverse wisdom traditions and her love of wild nature. She holds an MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy and is the founder of LIFEdance!, an exciting approach to personal development that embodies the motto "live your dance, dance your life."

Julia Meade 150x167Julia Meade
julia.haiyan@gmail.com

Julia Zhu Meade is an experienced leadership and career coach with a PCC credential. She is a trained and certified ontological coach (NCC) with Newfield Network.  She has coached more than 350 executives and professionals from different backgrounds in support of their career transformation and life transitions since 2014.

Somatics is an integral part of Julia’s coaching practice. She believes that our body keeps a score and it never forgets. How we physically show up in the world contains a lot of information of the hidden beliefs and mood space that governs one’s life. Lasting change comes from being aware of our body and shifting our somatic presence into one that supports maximizing our personal and professional potential.

Julia loves learning and sharing wisdom. She holds a MA in American literature and worked in higher education before transforming into a coach. She is also a graduate of the C-IQ program offered by Judith Glaser and Shadow into the Soul Program by Terri O’Fallon and Kim Barta. Both approaches incorporate somatic awareness and support the integration of this awareness into coaching.

We finish with a 15-25 minute debrief. Simulated experiences may be used. Participants are encouraged to take the assessment and will coach to the assessment results whether real or simulated.
